2001 – Brad McCarthy loses a car on the beach
2004-2005 – MaxTrax is tested.
2005 – MaxTrax hits the market!

15 years ago, Brad McCarthy got his 4WD stuck in soft sand. As a keen 4WD adventurer who knew South East Queensland’s trails like the back of his hand, the bog wasn’t a big deal. But it did give him an idea…

Painful experience taught him that getting stuck and losing a vehicle is a distinct possibility every time you leave tarmac for dirt track, no matter how experienced you are. His idea was simple and powerful – Why not build a tool specifically for getting your vehicle out of soft ground?

The not-so-simple part was turning his idea into a reality. Brad spent a lot of time and effort trying to get other parties involved to help bring what would later become the MaxTrax to life. But his project seemed bogged down, and with only a prototype that didn’t meet his needs, he came to Dienamics.

Dienamics owner Mark isn’t in the business of wasting people’s time. Working hard not to reinvent the wheel, he took inspiration from existing solutions to come up with a concept that was lightweight, strong and designed for ease of injection moulding from the get go. Iterating under Marks guidance, Dienamics’ design team refined the concept into the MaxTrax MK1.

Brad loved it.

Dienamics created the 1.2 meter long CNC prototype in house, and a fully functional MaxTrax was ready for testing. After putting the prototype through the wringer, Brad gave the go ahead for tooling. Dienamics also prepared patent documentation to assist Brad in protecting his hard won intellectual property.

The construction and commissioning of the injection moulding tooling was smooth. With high volume production at his disposal Brad was able to take the market on, and the MaxTrax has stayed in continuous production ever since. Dienamics has also continued to support the product with tool modifications and manufacturing advice.

Brad now sells the MaxTrax to dozens of countries around the world. His specialty customers include fire and rescue services, military units and mining companies. They’ve even been used in the Dakar Rally.

Dienamics is proud to have helped Brad put his product into the marketplace and become not only the first to market in the field, but also the very best on the market.
