AT&T Unveils More Sustainable Products

These days, consumers increasingly want to buy more sustainable products, and companies like AT&T are rising to the challenge.

Over the last year, AT&T has been making headway in the field of sustainability, from accessory packaging made from 30 per cent plant-based materials, to creating a consumer-focused sustainability website, called EcoSpace, where customers can recycle and trade in their old devices.

Its new wall and car chargers are especially well received, as they are made from moulded plastic that includes at least 30 per cent of post-consumer recycled plastics, and uses minimal power when plugged in. They are Energy Star 5 rated, exceed California’s Energy Commission 2013 efficiency standards, and focus on reducing “Vampire Draw” while not in use, meaning that even if they’re left plugged in they aren’t consuming a lot of energy. The chargers can still charge any device at the same rate and are capable of international use.
