How to learn industrial design

To learn industrial design, you must complete formal study. The majority of Industrial Designers have a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design. Can a product design be copyrighted

Yes, applying for a copyright costs about $35 per work/product and can take approximately 6 weeks or less. For an added fee, you can apply for additional rights such as the right to file for statutory damages (you pre-designate how much your work is worth), which can be used later to increase the potential damages you might receive if another is found in court to have violated your copyright.

Stage One: Concept assessement

Stage 2: Product design

Design drawings brought to life
Here initial concept sketches and designs are developed into 3D CAD. Detailed consideration of issues such as end use, operational conditions, warping and material tolerances, through to packaging and distribution requirements, combine to mould your idea into a pre prototype drawing.

Stage 3: Prototype

The “proof of concept” stage
Your fully functioning OneSource prototype is used to test the product and identify any issues. The prototype is vital in pin pointing any production changes and/or rectifications which may be needed to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiencies. Should it prove necessary further prototypes are developed with a view to ensuring the tools and moulds used for manufacture guarantee a quality outcome.

Stage Four: Manufacture
