BRP Safety Shovel

The Safety Shovel is an industry-first tool designed to provide support and protection to workers against potential hazards that pose risks to both human lives and infrastructure. This tool is developed to offer real-time detection of sub-surface currents and metal, enabling the identification of metallic objects such as cables, pipes (water, gas, electric, etc.), and electrified cables beneath the ground.

The Safety Shovel proves to be instrumental in preventing accidents caused by unintentional strikes on critical assets, though it is no trivial task to produce a tech device that is required to withstand shock, moisture, and house sensors and electronics in a variety of harsh environments. Bringing all these requirements together, meeting specifications and ensuring streamlined manufacturing and assembly requires a deep knowledge of manufacturing and assembly, one which our design team benefitted from collaborating with in-house moulders, toolmakers, and assembly lines.
